Alan Parsons Project Recommendations

Naming a band after someone who is the producer/engineer and not the principal singer, writer, or instrumentalist is a little like naming it after the guy who drives the van. Only in the case of the Alan Parsons Project, the guy driving the van just happens to have engineered the Beatles' Abbey Road as well as Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The Project's music is mostly the work of composer Eric Woolfson, arranger Andrew Powell, and a host of session musicians, yet Parsons is central to the band in terms of its concepts and its sound, which epitomized the "headphone music" of the '70s.
