The ultimate rock & roll singles band of their era, Creedence Clearwater Revival seemed to sprint through their meteoric career. Between 1968 and 1972, the California ensemble released seven studio albums, racking up 10 smash singles. During one remarkable 12-month period beginning in February 1969, they hit the top 20 five times with selections from four different albums. While many fans might be drawn to the two popular CCR greatest-hits collections that are available--Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits and Chronicle, Volume Two--the three middle albums from the group's heyday stand as landmarks in taut, rootsy rock & roll.
